Penn-Mar Ethanol Traffic Studies show at least 198 large-truck trips (99 one-way) to their ethanol plant 5.5 days a week.  These trucks will be carrying ethanol, gasoline, carbon dioxide (CO2), chemicals, dried distillers grain and solubles (DDGS), and imported corn that large corporate farmers will be getting shipped in along with Penn-Mar's cheap Mid-west grain.

If they come off Exit 20 at Route 997 (near the Chambersburg Mall), they must first navigate traffic going over the bridge or traffic coming from the bridge.

Next they travel West to the intersection of Route 997 and Route 11 (at Sheetz) and turn left, South onto Route 11.  Have you been to Sheetz out by Greenvillage lately?

►  Chambersburg Area School District purchased approximately 78.12 acres of land near the intersection of U.S. 11 and Pa. 997 (aka The Sheetz Intersection) in Greene Township in December 2005.

Down Route 11 passed Food Lion and a right turn (a less than 90 degree turn) onto Route 433 near the old Sunset Drive-In/Sunset Diner NW to the LEAD old Gate 6 Cumberland Valley Business Park (CVBP) entrance.  We call it the Turkey Foot.  Left into CVBP at the light.

99 large-truck trips in and now reverse it - 99 large-truck trips back out.

Penn-Mar Ethanol's "Truck Stacking" map (in Adobe .PDF) showing the stacking arrangement for some of the diesel trucks and some (not all) of the structures over Greene Township's maximum structure height of 45 feet.

At least 2 new residential developments are being built near this route.  53 townhouses by Brim Builders (preliminarily approved by Greene Township) at the old Sunset Drive-In area and The Highlands of Greenvillage - 174 residential units (Phase I building is started - the next Phases will bring the total to 545 units) just South of Culbertson/Greenvillage.  The Highlands of Greenvillage will be primarily accessed by a main entrance off Greenvillage Road (either coming from Route 11, 997 or 433), with a secondary access from Cumberland Highway (Route 997).

What about traffic from other industries that CVBP might lease or sell to and the exploding residential developments in Greene Township?
